HANDS THAT FEED, 2022

I’m in love with this book, and wish I could share the way if feels to handle it. It’s sturdy and timeless, just like the subject matter. 24 tri-color silk-screen prints guard pages of a reclaimed account book, listing wheat farmers’ dividends at the local grain co-op. The image shows the families who fed the harvest crews via a cook wagon that was hauled out into the fields. One of a kind.

SAVE NINE, 2017

Relief printing on paper crafted by the artist from local iris fibers and abaca. Cover and case of walnut-dyed flax from Cave Paper. Want to learn to make this Crab Claw case? Check it out here.

Save Nine (2017) features what I call a ‘crab claw’ protective box, made from one sheet of paper, that I designed during my “Breathing New Life into Dead Media” class at the 2004 PBI.

Because of the minimal use of adhesive, the box hugs the book nicely.

The box can be used as a cradle to display the book.
